A new $92 Million SA Netball Centre

Stage 1

$12 million redevelopment of the the outdoor community courts (a $6 million commitment from both the Federal and State Government).

Stage 2

$80 million to build a new and improved indoor sports complex.

A win for grassroots sport

Netball is one of the state’s most popular physical activities, with more than 35,000 people regularly participating. The redeveloped centre will support the continued growth of netball in South Australia, fostering netball pathways from grassroots through to the highest level.

Improved amenities will also provide a more enjoyable training/game day experience for the netball community. The plan will see the existing Mile End stadium rebuilt with more courts and improved seating, offering an overall better experience for the half a million people that attend the venue every year.

Powering the state's best netballers

The SA Netball Centre will support the Adelaide Thunderbirds in their goal to ‘dream bigger’, providing superior training facilities.

The centre is also home to South Australia’s pinnacle netball competition, showcasing state rivalry at its finest. The State Premier League brings together the best of the state’s current and emerging talent to develop in this highly competitive local environment.

Strengthening SA's global reputation

Located at the gateway to the Adelaide CBD and in close proximity to other world leading sport facilities, the SA Netball Centre has the potential to attract national and international teams to Adelaide, to use the venue as a training base.

The Mile End sports precinct is home to the new $88 million South Australian Sports Institute which also incorporates the Australian Beach Volleyball training facility and Adelaide University sports science hub. Further enhancing the area is the recent addition of the $12 million Australian Centre for Sports Aerodynamics and a $10 million SA Athletics Stadium upgrade.
